About Us
The Russell Gaelic Union is a GAA Club in Downpatrick.
Founded in 1896, the club has a rich history in Gaelic sports, winning its first Down Senior Football Championship in 1935.
Today, we have a strong membership of over 400 people and teams from U6 onwards.
At the Russell Gaelic Union, we believe in the power of sport and the GAA to build a positive, lasting legacy on our local community. Since our foundation, our Executive Committees and our teams of volunteers, mentors and parents have, and continue to be, committed to enriching the lives of our members and our local area.
Our goal is to support our children and young people to grow into healthy adults in mind and body, who will contribute positively to our society.
